Hoe weet je of je een full frame camera hebt?
Fullframe is de term die gebruikt wordt voor camera’s die een sensor met een afmeting van 24 x 36 millimeter hebben. Dat formaat is even groot als het lichtgevoelige gedeelte van het ouderwetse filmrolletje. Fullframe camera’s maken bovendien gebruik van de volledige beeldhoek die objectieven bieden.
Waarom zou ik een fullframe camera kopen?
Het grootste voordeel van een full frame camera is dat er geen cropfactor op zit. Cropfactor houdt in dat er een uitsnede van het beeld wordt gemaakt omdat de sensor te klein is om het hele beeld vast te leggen. Met een full frame camera lukt dit wel.

On an FX-format camera with a DX lens mounted, the camera will automatically engage its built-in DX crop mode, thus recording an image only from the center section of the sensor.
What is the difference between DX and FX lens vignetting?
Vignetting is also typically much less pronounced on DX bodies than on FX, again due to corners not being used. For example, the older version of the Nikon 70-200mm VR II lens performed beautifully on DX bodies and quite poorly on FX bodies, which is why Nikon had to update it with a better version for full-frame cameras.
