Waar is een barcode voor?
Streepjescode of barcode is een opeenvolging van lijnen die een code representeert die door een scanner gelezen kan worden. Afhankelijk van het coderingssysteem kan deze code uitsluitend uit cijfers bestaan, of uit een combinatie van cijfers, letters en leestekens. De streepjescode werd gepatenteerd op 7 oktober 1952.
Wat is 1D barcode?
Een 1D barcode is een barcode welke nog met de standaard ‘streepjescode’ werkt. Het nadeel van een standaard barcode is dat de data die opgeslagen wordt, enkel nummeriek is (cijferreeks). In een 2D barcode kan meer data opgeslagen worden.
