Later sticht Kaïn een stad, de eerste die in de Bijbel genoemd wordt, die hij naar zijn zoon Henoch noemt. Na Abels dood krijgen Adam en Eva nog een zoon, die zij als ‘vervanging’ van Abel beschouwen. Zij noemen hem Seth.
