The beach water is shallow for many yards, and then finally drops to chest level as you walk a bit out. When we were there in late August, the water was crystal clear throughout. Pompano Beach has one of the best piers that stretch out into the Atlantic Ocean. It’s one of my favorite beaches to visit because of that.
