Is Crystal Cave open Sequoia?
Crystal Cave is open Thursday through Sunday, with hourly tours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Crystal Cave is the second-largest of 275 known caves in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and the fourth largest in California.
Is Sequoia National Park open to visitors?
The Foothills area of Sequoia National Park and the Grant Grove area of Kings Canyon National Park are currently open seven days a week, while Lodgepole remains closed due to the fire. The Cedar Grove and Mineral King areas of the parks are closed for the season.
Is Crystal Cave worth visiting?
Crystal Cave is a must see. The tour guides offer interesting facts and it was a great experience for the entire family. Just be sure to ask if you have any special needs (wheelchairs, strollers, etc). It could be a little difficult to walk through the tour but well worth it.
Is Sequoia Lake open to public?
Sequoia lake is on PRIVATE PROPERTY! It is on the way to Sequoia lake. It’s beautiful! But the lake itself is run by the camps of the YMCA and not truly open to the public!
Can you go to Crystal Cave without a tour?
Visiting Crystal Cave Because of fragile formations, the only way to visit the cave is on a guided tour. Tours are suitable for all ages. If you decide to see the cave, plan on spending about half a day traveling to the cave, walking to the entrance, and taking the 50-minute tour.
Is Roaring River Falls open?
The road to Roaring River Falls closes in the winter and may not open until late April, so check ahead before you visit. Dogs and mountain bikes are prohibited on trails in Kings Canyon National Park.
Is Sequoia National Park open during Covid?
Due to the nearby KNP Complex Fire, we have temporarily closed our lodging, food services, and most retail services at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Kings Canyon Reservations: John Muir Lodge, the Grant Grove Cabins, and Cedar Grove Lodge are now closed for the season.

For millennia, conditions within the Cave of Crystals (290 m underground) were perfect for the growth of gypsum crystals, allowing them to grow to their massive size. Deep below a mountain near Naica, Mexico, miners searching for fresh ore deposits in 2000 came across an unexpected and awesome sight.
Is Crystal Cave safe?
While Crystal Cave is now open for visitors, the attraction has implemented health and safety guidelines based on recommendations from the CDC and PA Dept of Health. Crystal Cave employees will wear gloves during transactions and thoroughly clean restrooms, hand railings, souvenirs, and counters throughout the day.
Is General Sherman Tree open?
Access to Giant Forest, Lodgepole and the General Sherman Tree will also remain closed. And, the Generals Highway from Hospital Rock through Sequoia National Park will be closed, along with the highway between Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
How much does it cost to go to Crystal Cave?
Adult tickets are $16; $12 for children ages 4 – 11 years old; children 3 and under are free.
How long does it take to walk through Crystal Cave?
It was not that long It was about an hour or so. You meet the tour guide at the top near the entrance. There is about a 10-15 min video you watch about the cave. After that you enter the cave they explain the rules and they take you on the tour.
Where is Crystal Cave at Sequoia National Park?
Located about a 40-minute drive south of Wuksachi Lodge near Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park, Crystal Cave at Sequoia is available for exploration during the summer months only. Sequoia Parks Conservancy will offer guided tours daily from May 24 – September 29, 2019.
Is crystal cave open to the public?
Crystal Cave will be open Thursday – Sunday ONLY and CLOSED Monday-Wednesday. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Sequoia Parks Conservancy Field Institute will only be offering the Standard Tour: Family during the 2021 season. We hope to bring back our other tours in 2022.
