Is there a way to play PS2 Guitar Hero on PS3?
As far as i know, the only way you can play ps2 guitar hero on ps3 is from third party guitar connectors. But they don’t work well.. at all. hammer ons/pull offs dont work, neither does the whammy. I did hear about a third party guitar being made for ps3 that can play the ps2 games, and can be switched from playing gh3 and rockband for ps3.
Will the PS3 Les Paul work with the PS2 Guitar Hero Games?
Correction: The new PS3 Les Paul wireless controller will NOT work at all with any of the Playstation2 Guitar Hero titles when played on the PS3. We suggest that you keep your PS2 console around to play the older PS2 Guitar Hero games. Using a PS2-to-PS3 USB adapter, GH1 will work on the PS3 using either the SG or the original PS2 wireless guitar.
Does the GH3 wireless guitar work with the GH1 and GH2?

Xbox 360 Guitar Compatibility. The Guitar Hero III Gibson Les Paul and the original Gibson X-plorer from Guitar Hero II will both work as lead or bass guitars in Rock Band on the Xbox 360. However, they don’t have the built-in audio switchers to activate echo, flanger, and other guitar sound effects.
Can you play rock band with a Stratocaster on PS3?
While the Xbox 360 RedOctane controllers play nicely with Rock Band, we can’t say that the Rock Band guitar returns the favor. The Rock Band Fender Stratocaster will not work with Guitar Hero II or Guitar Hero III. As you can see, there isn’t much cross-game guitar compatibility on the PlayStation 3.
