Wat houd DRS in?
Een laatste term die je op spannende momenten van de race zult horen, is DRS. Dat staat voor Drag Reduction System, een systeem dat in de auto’s zit om ze harder te laten rijden. Het liefst zouden coureurs die klep natuurlijk altijd open hebben staan, maar dat kan niet.
Hoe gaat de DRS open?
Maar hoe werkt het? Wanneer een coureur op een recht stuk van de baan rijdt kan hij ervoor kiezen om zijn achtervleugel open te klappen door op zijn stuur op de DRS-knop te drukken. Door dit te doen verdwijnt een deel van de neerwaartse druk op de auto.
