Why is The Sims so cheap right now?
The Sims announced the discounted price for The Sims 4 earlier this week, taking to Twitter to reveal that its spring sale has started “a little earlier this year.” Many believe the low price points are in response to the coronavirus outbreak, which is of course leaving us all cooped up at home.
Is the Sims still free?
Is The Sims 4 free? Unfortunately, there is no 100% free version of The Sims 4. However, you can download a free trial of the game that will give you 48 hours to create your characters and start building your world. If you enjoy the game and decide to purchase it, all your progress will be saved.
Does The Sims ever go on sale?
There are the big seasonal sales and a few small, thematic sales, when Sims 4 may enter as the main attraction. As the most recent sale was in June, my guess that we may see another sale in the next two/three months. Personally, i check the store often for sales.

Is buying The Sims 4 worth it?
The Sims 4 is a fun and enjoyable game, though of course, it’s not as good as The Sims 3. The base games are never as good as the entire series before them, and it’s mainly due to the fact that you’ve just played a game with 12+ expansion and stuff packs, and then moved on to a boring, “vanilla” base game.

Generally, The Sims 4 costs money to buy. It’s not free to play and there isn’t any platform that you can just go and play the game for free, Xbox Game Pass included. If you’re looking to buy The Sims 4 as close to free as you can, try and keep an eye on the Origin and Steam pages for the game.
