How much honor does Alterac Valley give?
For each game you play, you’ll earn 10 Honor simply for participating. If you win that game, you’ll earn an extra 10 Honor, for a total of 20. But the big catch happens when you play (and win) against a player of the opposing faction: in that case, you’ll earn 20 more Honor, for a final tally of 40.

Lieutenants were removed in patch 2.3. Pre-2.3, lieutenants were scattered about the respective sides of each faction. There were six on each side. They usually guarded key structures.

How do you grind Alterac Valley rep?
The best way to maximize your reputation is by killing the battleground objective bosses (Vanndar Stormpike / Balinda Stonehearth for Horde or Drek’thar / Galvangar for Alliance). In other words, just playing the match normally and trying to win will give you the fastest reputation.

Dun Baldar is the stronghold of Alliance General Vanndar Stormpike, located in the northern part of Alterac Valley. Dun Baldar is the primary staging ground for the Stormpike clan of Dwarves, arriving in Alterac Valley in search of archaeological artifacts and resources.
How do you win Alterac Valley?
To achieve victory in Alterac Valley, players must kill the enemy General Vanndar Stormpike or Drek’Thar. This goal is made easier by destroying enemy bunkers/towers to reduce the number of elites (Marshals/Warmasters) guarding the General.
What do you do with Alterac Valley Marks?
This can be turned in for epic PvP gloves, helm, weapons, and mount (along with honor).
