I’m getting very hung up over the fact that the Tiefling variants listed in the Sword Coast Adventure Guide (Devil’s Tongue, Hellfire, Winged) seem to have to go with each other and replace their respective PHB traits, e.g. a Devil’s Tongue Tiefling must ALSO be Winged and Hellfire, and other configurations thereof.

What is the best tiefling archetype to play?
Variant: Feral: The only way to play a Tiefling without a Charisma increase, the Feral variant is the best option for any archetype except Purple Dragon Knight. Eldritch Knight is an obvious choice, but don’t feel locked into it solely because you have a +1 Intelligence increase.
Is a tiefling a good race for a Ranger?
