Can you drive through Zion National Park right now?
You may drive yourself on all open park roads except the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. During most of the year, the Scenic Drive is accessed by shuttle bus only. Shuttles are free and can be found at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.
Is Zion and Bryce open?
Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Capitol Reef National Parks Are Now Open—with Limitations. In its limited operations, the park will not be operating shuttles and Scenic Drive will be closed once parking lots are full. The park will be open for day use only, and cross-country travel is not recommended.

Zion National Park is open year-round, though the most popular months to visit are April through October, when the shuttle busses are running in Zion Canyon. Spring, summer and fall are more crowded than winter. Winter visitors to Zion will still find plenty to do.

Walk over to the Zion National Park Shuttle stop in front of the Zion National Park Visitor Center (Stop 1). Via Zion Lodge Start: Ride the shuttle to the Zion Lodge (Stop 5). Exit the shuttle to your right and follow signs to The Emerald Pools Trailhead (which will eventually cross the road).

Both of these Parks offer great outdoor activities for all ages. For canyoneering and rappelling, Zion beats Bryce. You’ll find world-class hiking in either Park, but in Zion you can find yourself hiking through streams or on sandstone ledges, like Angels Landing – one of the scariest hikes in the world!
How many days should I spend in Zion?
Ideally, you need at least two to three days to visit Zion National Park. This gives you enough time to hike the longer, more popular trails, such as Angels Landing and the Narrows, and you can also add in a few of the shorter, easier trails, such as the Riverside Walk and Canyon Overlook.
