In short – the core roster is already available, guest characters cost 5,000 Bananas while additional series characters cost 3,000 Bananas each. Kazuma, Beat, Sonic and Golden AiAi are all unlockable characters in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania.

Sega has announced that Sonic and Tails will be playable characters in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania. Sonic and Tails will not be paid DLC – Sega has confirmed they will be free playable characters who are included in the game at launch and can be unlocked through normal gameplay.

MeeMee (not to be confused with Mee’nee) is a character who first appears in Monkey Ball. She is the mother of Baby and the wife of AiAi. She loves AiAi, but she thinks that he loves bananas more than her. MeeMee is the team’s charm and acts as a second-in-command.

We’re very excited to reveal today that Sonic and Tails will roll into Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania as playable characters when the game launches for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on October 5!
How old are Super Monkey Ball and Sonic the Hedgehog?
This special Sega collaboration marks the respective 20 th and 30 th anniversaries of Super Monkey Ball and Sonic The Hedgehog (both actually share the same June 23 birthday!).
Via a little digging, Super Monkey Ball and Sonic fans discovered hidden files named sonic.png and tails.png, even unearthing the images as you can see above. Sonic celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and as was revealed during a recent Sonic Central, the blue blur is doing a lot to mark the occasion.
