That, combined with what I said before, clearly points to concluding that the Aldritch we find in Anor Londo has recently arrived (recently being a subjective term, but you get it) and is eating Gwyndolin in that very moment. -In another item, it is expressed that Aldritch likes to eat his ”meals” alive.
Was Gwyndolin at the top or bottom of the age of dark?
So Gwyndolin was top or bottom. I think he meant that in DS3 there never been an age of dark as the fire kept being link by some lord of cinder, so it’s assuming that in the previous Dark Souls you’ll always choose the link the fire ending. Funny how the original fire linker/undead after Gwyn is never mentioned in DS3.
Is Nito Gwyndolin’s reincarnation?
Nito is, after all, a more important lore figure than Gwyndolin, being one of the big DS1 opening elite 4. It seems more likely to me that he’s nito’s reincarnation. It seems like characters in DaS are destined to repeat each other’s actions and take on their characteristics when they do.

Is Gwyndolin hard to kill?
Gwyndolin was released from his gruesome fate when the Unkindled slew the Lord of Cinder, ending the god’s torment and finally allowing him to die. Gwyndolin’s boss battle takes place in a seemingly neverending corridor. He is not a very difficult boss if the player has decent dodging skills.
