Waar je voorheen gedurende het verhaal steeds voorwerpen kon verzamelen voor je eigen level-creaties, is dat nu beperkt tot hoedjes, brillen en outfits voor je sackboy zelf. Elke wereld die hij bezoekt kent tot een vijftien tal levels, waarvan een aantal ‘verborgen’ in de hub te vinden zijn.
