Steps Reach Mauville City. You’ll come across Mauville City as your progress through the story, after you have received your second Badge. Head to the right of the Poke Mart to find the Rock Smash Guy’s house. It’s the house directly to the right of the Poke Mart, across the path. Teach Rock Smash to one of your Pokémon.

If you go west of Mauville then you will hit Verdanturf town, and the daycare centre. In Verdanturf you can go into the Rusturf cave,and smash the rock blocking the guy from his girlfriend. Once the rock has been removed, the guy will give you HM04, strength, as his thanks, which you will need later on.
How do you get to Route 117 in Pokemon Emerald?
For winning, you get the Dynamo Badge and TM34 – Shock Wave. The badge gives you the ability to use Rock Smash outside of battle, and will raise the Speed of your Pokemon. After getting what you came here for, you can head west onto Route 117. At the very beginning of Route 117, there’s a Daycare Center.

• Mauville City/Route 117. When you arrive in Mauville City, the first thing you’ll want to do is to get yourself a free Bike. Go into the house to the right of the Pokemon Center, and you’ll get one there by talking to the person shown in the screen shot. There are two bikes, Mach and Acro.
How do you get to fallarbor town in Pokemon Emerald?
Use Rock Smash to access the Fiery Path and continue the story. You’ll need to use Rock Smash to break the rocks on Route 112, which opens the Fiery Path. This cave will let you bypass the desert and reach Fallarbor Town, where your adventures will continue.
