Is sleedoorn giftig?
De bessen van sleedoorn zijn weinig giftig. Na de inname van minder dan 10 bessen van deze plant volstaat het om het kind wat water te laten drinken. Na inname van andere plantendelen (bladeren, stengels, wortels) is het beter contact op te nemen met het Antigifcentrum.
Hoe gezond is sleedoorn?
Sleedoornbloemen hebben een mild laxerende werking waardoor het een prima geneesmiddel is voor kinderen met constipatieklachten. Sleedoornbloemen zijn diuretisch en worden daarom ingezet om het bloed te zuiveren. In de fytotherapie wordt sleedoorn alleen ingezet bij constipatie bij kinderen.
