Waarom is het maken van een risicoanalyse zo belangrijk drone?
In deze categorie zal men moeten kunnen aantonen een specifiek type operatie veilig te kunnen uitvoeren op basis van van opleidingen, procedures en risicoanalyses. De uitkomst van zo’n risicoanalyse schrijft vervolgens voor welke maatregelen moeten worden genomen om de betreffende vlucht veilig uit te kunnen voeren.
Waar mag je vliegen met A1 drone?
In de A1 categorie is het nooit toegestaan om boven mensenmenigten te vliegen. De drones waarmee in deze categorie gevlogen mag worden mogen niet zwaarder zijn dan 900 gram en bij drones zwaarder dan 250 gram moet je als piloot een online theoriecursus en -examen doen (dezelfde als voor de A3 subcategorie).
Wat mag ik vliegen met A1 A3?
Als er drones uitkomen die wel een Cx label hebben, veranderen de gewichtsklassen van A1, A2 en A3. De subcategorie A1 is dan 0 tot 900 gram en A2 is dan 900 gram tot 4 kilogram. Je mag tot 30 meter afstand van mensen en wegen vliegen. A3 verandert naar 4 tot 25 kilogram en 150 meter afstand houden verandert niet.

Not only are there certain frequencies that are illegal for FPV flying, but also constraints on the transmission power level. For more detail check out this PDF. 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz frequency bands are okay to use for FPV in the UK, but there are power limits: for 2.4Ghz, the max power is 10mW. For 5.8Ghz the max power allowed is 25mW.
Is FPV legal in the USA?
Most decent FPV equipment is basically illegal to run due to restrictions on transmission power and frequency. That’s why most people use 2.4GHz for radio control and 5.8GHz for FPV, for reasons of being legal and the most easily accessible. It’s not uncommon to use an illegal frequency or transmit over the power limit without getting caught.
