Wat is chronische Slokdarmontsteking?
Een slokdarmontsteking kan zowel acuut als chronisch zijn. Een chronische slokdarmontsteking kan na verloop van tijd overgaan in een Barret slokdarm. Hierbij wijkt het slijmvlies in de slokdarm af van de normale kleur. In plaats van een witte kleur heeft het slijmvlies dan een zalmkleur.

Eosinophilic (e-o-sin-o-FILL-ik) esophagitis (EoE) is a recognized chronic allergic/immune condition of the esophagus. The esophagus is the tube that sends food from the mouth to the stomach. In EoE, large numbers of white blood cells called eosinophils are found in the inner lining of the esophagus.
