Wat is front focus?
Front focus is het tegenovergestelde van back focus. In dit geval stelt de camera scherp voor het gewenste onderwerp.
Waarom back focus gebruiken?
De back button focus knop is heel handig om de scherpte te behouden bij bewegende onderwerpen. De knop is vergelijkbaar met het half indrukken van je ontspanknop, wat het moment is voor je camera om scherp te stellen in autofocus. Om de knop goed te gebruiken, zet je je camera op continue autofocus (AI Servo).

Als je de (AF-ON knop; zie verderop over instellen) namelijk ingedrukt houdt blijft de camera scherpstellen, je kan nu dus een bewegend voorwerp blijven volgen. Je hebt vervolgens ook de optie om de knop maar heel even snel in te drukken om maar een keer scherp te stellen op een stilstaand onderwerp.
Wat is af Lock?
AF-L betekent AutoFocus-Lock, en deze werkt vooral bij One Shot Autofocus. De AF-L knop heeft eigenlijk dezelfde functie als het half ingedrukt houden van de ontspanknop.De knop zorgt er voor dat de scherpte op het door jou geselecteerde punt blijft, zelfs al zou je de ontspanknop loslaten en weer indrukken.

Wat is het verschil tussen AF S en AF C?
Bij veel camera’s tref je in het menu de keuzeoptie ‘AF S’ of ‘AF C’ aan. Bij spiegelreflexen kan het ook een schakelaartje bij de objectiefmond zijn, met nog een derde stand ‘M’. Dat laatste staat voor ‘Manual Focus’ (handmatig scherpstellen). In de autofocusstand staat de ‘S’ voor ‘Single’ en de ‘C’ voor ‘Continu’.
Wat betekent AE-l en af l?
AE-L staat voor Auto Exposure Lock, en heeft een soortgelijke functie, maar het is belichtingsvergrendeling in plaats van focusvergrendeling. Wanneer je op deze knop drukt, wordt de huidige belichting vastgezet.

Op de iPhone heeft de camera een auto focus (AF) en auto exposure (AE) functie. Wanneer je de camera iets beweegt zal hij zich automatisch focussen en de belichting dusdanig aanpassen dat je geen overbelichte foto’s of video’s krijgt. Het is ook mogelijk om de auto focus te vergrendelen.
Wat is het verschil tussen AF S en AF-P?
De afkorting AF staat voor Auto Focus oftewel automatische scherpstelling en geeft aan dat het objectief over deze functionaliteit beschikt. AF-P objectieven geven informatie aan de camerabody door over de scherpstelafstand en het diafragma en hebben dus geen diafragmaring meer nodig.
