Wat is het verschil tussen SATA en IDE?
IDE en SATA zijn twee methoden om harddisks aan te sluiten. IDE is de oudere techniek, SATA de nieuwe. Bovendien is de overdrachtsnelheid van de SATA techniek (op moment van schrijven ietsje) hoger dan die van IDE. Een SATA aansluiting op het moederbord kan dus een voordeel zijn.
Wat is een SATA connector?
Serial ATA (ook SATA of S-ATA), voluit Serial Advanced Technology Attachment, is een computerbus ontworpen voor het transport van gegevens tussen de computer en de harde schijf, SSD of dvd-/cd-speler. Een SATA-kabel heeft minder last van crosstalk en EMI (electromagnetic interference).
Hoe sluit je harde schijf aan?
Je kunt een Sata kabel op dezelfde manier aansluiten als een usb kabel, dus één kant van de kabel in de externe harde schijf en de andere kant in je laptop of pc. Je moet hier op je pc wel de juiste poort voor gebruiken. Een fire wire kabel is gemakkelijk te herkennen aan zijn uitsteeksels.
