Welk servies is goed?
Kies je voor porselein, dan heb je een stevig en licht servies wat erg praktisch is voor dagelijks gebruik. Natuurlijk heb je porselein in vele soorten en maten. Dat zie je terug in materiaaleigenschappen en de kwaliteit van het porselein. Bekende alternatieve vormen zijn het Fine Bone China en Premium Porselein.
Wat is steviger porselein of keramiek?
Porseleinen servies Een servies van porselein is doorgaans een stuk lichter dan keramiek (ofwel aardewerk). Toch zorgt de hardheid van het materiaal voor een hoge mate van stevigheid. Dit komt mede doordat porselein bij een hoge oventemperatuur (1300 – 1500 graden) wordt vervaardigd.
Welk servies sparen?
Mensen sparen het bij elkaar met puntjes van de Royco soep, beschuit van Bolletje of allemaal koffiemerken. Een compleet servies bestaat niet alleen uit een eindeloze rij borden en schalen in alle maten, maar er hoort ook een serie snoezige asbakken bij, want dat kan in de sixties gewoon. Ook klassiek: boerenbont.

Why is bone china so expensive?
You may have noticed that Bone China tends to be far more expensive than Fine China. This is due to the cow bone ash material. However, the material wasn’t intended to make the China stronger or chip-resistant. It is because the cow bone ash creates unique shades of colour and hues.
What is bonebone China?
Bone china is a type of porcelain. It was first synthesized in approximately 1800 by Josiah Spode in the U.K. It takes its name from the proportion — a minimum of 25 percent but typically 50 percent — of bone ash, derived from animal bones.
What is the difference between bone china and fine china?
Often, Bone China has a softer creamier colour compared to Fine China, (sometimes known as Fine Porcelain). You will notice that Fine China is a brighter white. If you place the two China side by side, Arctic White is innately translucent with beautiful warm tones. You can see a significant difference when you put them under a light.
Is bone china stronger and more chip-resistant?
On top of that confusion, a lot of people tend to prefer Bone China over Fine China because they believe it is much stronger and more chip-resistant just because it has bone material in it. If you had plans to get Bone China based on that pre-conceived notion, we advise you to scratch that idea, because it really doesn’t matter.
