What is Media Player Classic (MPC)?
Media Player Classic ( MPC) is a compact media player for 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows. MPC mimics the look and feel of Windows Media Player 6.4, but provides most options and features available in modern media players.
Can the MPC-HC be customized?
With its wide array of options, MPC-HC can be customized to fit almost any needs. Among other things we added custom toolbars. MPC-HC can also be used as DVB player. Note: The original MPC-HC was abandoned by developers in 2017 but this version carries on the legacy.

What happened to MPC-HC?
Version 1.7.13 of MPC-HC (Media Player Classic Home Cinema) released today, but it comes with depressing news: the announcement reveals that the number of active developers has dried up, so the project is over and finished.
Is MPC-HC still a good player?
Yes! That is unfortunate. It too was one of my go-to players, along with VLC. VLC is still the best “zero config” solution, but MPC-HC along with proper codec packs that include MadVR and AssFilterMod/XYSubFilter (to my knowledge, only LAV Megamix is anywhere close to up to date) offers better quality and features.
Who can contribute to MPC-HC?
MPC-HC is open source, so anyone who is interested can contribute fixes and improvements. You can submit patches to me, and when I think your change is useful, I will gladly include it in a future build. Several people have already contributed improvements, fixes, and even new functionality.
