Harvest Moon DS is a farm simulation role-playing game for the Nintendo DS, part of the Story of Seasons series. It was published and developed by Marvelous Interactive, and released in Japan on March 17, 2005.

Japanese versions of Harvest Moon DS can only connect to their Japanese counterparts, and while this feature is not available on PAL Harvest Moon DS cartridges, NTSC Harvest Moon DS cartridges can connect with PAL and NTSC Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town cartridges.

What are the rival events?
The Rival Events will occur if a boys heart color is at the matching rival heart requirement level or below. That is opposite of your own Heart Events, which can occur if the boy is at the specified color or above. You can activate a Rival Event at black, blue, green, and orange heart colors.
Can I skip the Orange rival event?
The events also must go in order so if you haven’t seen the blue Rival Event and the boy is at a green color, the event will not activate until he is back to a blue color and you can’t skip ahead to see the orange event. The orange rival event will not trigger until you have rescued the required 60 Harvest Sprites necessary for marriage.
