Nearshoring is wanneer er werk naar een land verplaatst wordt dat dichtbij het eigen land ligt. Op Wikipedia staat dat het land aangrenzend moet zijn, maar in Europa bedoelen we vaak Oost-Europa. Offshoring is het verplaatsen van werk naar een ander land in het algemeen.
Waarom nearshoring?
Kleine culturele verschillen, geografische nabijheid en minimale tijdsverschillen zijn slechts enkele van de voordelen van deze landen. Net als offshoring is nearshoring vooral bedoeld om de personeelskosten te verlagen. Het monetaire voordeel van loonverschillen is minder groot dan bij farshoring.
Wat is Reshoring?
Steeds meer bedrijven halen productie terug uit lagelonenlanden of denken hierover na. Maar ook in andere landen in West- Europa halen steeds meer bedrijven hun productie terug. Deze trend heet reshoring. Reshoring is een nieuwe trend die naast offshoring (het verplaatsen van productie naar lagelonelanden) bestaat.
